Birmingham Alabama Temple

Plans to construct the temple were announced 11 September 1998, Church leaders broke ground 9 October 1999, and Gordon B. Hinckley, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1995 to 2008, dedicated the Birmingham Alabama Temple 3 September 2000. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in Alabama and Florida.

The exterior of the 10,700-square-foot temple is Imperial Danby white marble.

Currently, there are 28 temples in various stages of construction, renovation or recently announced throughout the world.
