Mormons Donating 400,000 Trees to Haiti
News Release — 3 May 2013It was a perfect pairing: Agriculture Day, Haiti’s national holiday, a time when Haitians are encouraged to do volunteer work, coupled with planting nearly 25,000 trees donated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. More than 1,800 Mormons and their neighbors turned out to plant the much-needed resource.
