The New York Yankees announced Monday that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has added a pregame set at Yankee Stadium to their previously announced Atlantic Coast tour schedule this summer.

In a very rare performance, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Orchestra at Temple Square will present Handel’s Messiah in its entirety. The Easter performance will coincide with Good Friday, 18 April, and Saturday, 19 April 2014, at 7:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle and will also be the first time in 10 years that the full choir and orchestra will perform at the Easter concert. Mack Wilberg, music director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, will conduct the event.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square are headed home to Utah after 10 days on tour in the Upper Midwest United States. The choir and orchestra performed in Minneapolis on 20 June after earlier stops in Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin.

As part of its upcoming tour, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir will stop in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, on 19 June to honor the history of Mormon loggers in the area. Choir members donated the funds to erect a commemorative historical marker.
