Gilbert Arizona Temple

Plans to construct the temple were announced 28 April 2008, Church leaders broke ground 13 November 2010, and the temple was dedicated 2 March 2014. Thomas S. Monson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, presided over the dedicatory services and gave the prayer in the second session. His first counselor in the First Presidency, President Henry B. Eyring, offered the temple dedicatory prayer in two of the sessions. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in Gilbert and the surrounding areas.

The 85,326 square-foot temple's exterior is light cream-colored precast concrete with white quartz.
Currently, there are more than 20 temples in various stages of construction or have been announced throughout the world.
